While traveling in the Dutch countryside I saw a big and beautiful pig grazing under the shade of a tree in the field. I realized that I had never seen a pig in Canada. The reason we don't see pigs is that most of them are in the large grey buildings, never seeing the light of day and living short and miserable lives. There are almost as many pigs as people in Canada. This body of work celebrates and reveals their intelligent, playful and endearing side that has been denigrated through the ages. Through their imagination they have for at least a moment escaped into a new and beautiful world.
